I went to a salsa dancing thing with Darcy today, which was so much fun. o_o And the guy teaching us was all ... smooth and sexy. xD

Okay, so, apparently? They didn't sell enough Dean Haglund tickets at the place I'm going, so they moved his performance out of the big hall and into a smaller one. Which means we'll be very close up. Like, within touching distance.

May 9th is going to be the best day EVER.

For more reasons that just that, too! I'm getting out of school that day for the summer (well, I still have exams, but basically I'm out for the summer.) And I'm only really in school for like one or two lessons or something. And also I have a Sweeney Todd rehearsal in the morning, and I'd go into detail about why that's awesome but I'm paranoid about putting that kind of thing on the web without friends-locking it. ♥

(I'm not really sure why. It's not like anyone cares about some stupid kid with a stupid crush on someone she's working with in the production. *shifty eyes*)

In OTHER awesome news? Today I bought the BEST SKIRT EVER considering how cheap it was. It was on sale because something was sewed onto it wrong, but it's all good. It's long, dark red, really pretty and flowwy, and has these black strap attachments with metal things on them. It was such an awesome find, holyshittt. :D

I also bought a top to go with the outfit I'm wearing on Friday when I go see Dean. ;D It's black with grey circuit board patterns on it (from Cyberdog of course). I'm wearing it with a skirt I bought from toiletdog (of course it would be her, hehe) that's purple and silver with alien heads on it. xD

It's awesome because my hair is really 60'sish at the moment - almost shoulder length, and it flips out at the bottom. So when I wear this outfit I look like one of the girls in those bad old sci-fi films. *pride*

I really love strange, old things. Antiques and stuff. Especially when you can wear them, and they involve things like lace/beads/pretty colorful gems/etc.

Conversely I also love Cyberdog stuff because it reminds me of those terrible old science fiction films from back in the 60's(ish).

So basically, I am in a conflict of fashion. Dark dresses borrowing lavish concepts from Victorian times are part of me, but so are silly space girl outfits that look like they came straight out of some old episode of Doctor Who.

(I am currently in possession of the clothes to make up either style.)

The thing I have decided I don't particularly like, strangely enough, are the styles you generally see kids wearing just after spending all their allowance money at Hot Topic and other such places. It's no secret that I don't really like emo styles, but even HT goths aren't always the most interesting looking as far as I'm concerned.

Not that I'm dumping on the people who wear a lot of that stuff; if you like it then I think it's awesome that you have the guts to wear it if you do. And there's nothing wrong with grabbing some accessories or other random bits and pieces from shops like that. But it's *so* much more interesting to either sew your own clothes, or just use random stuff found at charity/secondhand/etc shops.
